What to Expect from Botox Procedure?
Prior to receiving Botox injections, the treatment area will be cleansed, and you will be asked to activate the targeted facial muscles.
For instance, patients who wish to smooth glabellar lines, also known as 11’s between the eyebrows, should be prepared to frown. This helps determine the appropriate injection sites and maximize clinical outcomes.
Next, Botox is administered as a series of injections with an ultra-thin needle.
In most cases, the procedure lasts 10-30 minutes. Immediately after, patients are free to return to work and resume all normal activities.
Does Botox Hurt?
Now, for the question on everyone’s mind – Does Botox hurt?
While it’s impossible to speak for all patients, a majority find the process extremely quick and painless. In fact, other than a light pin prick sensation, that lasts a few seconds, you shouldn’t feel much of anything during a Botox treatment.
With that being said, some mild swelling, redness, and pinpoint bleeding are possible post-procedure. These effects are typically mild and subside in one-to-two hours.
How Long Until Botox Starts Working?
Within three-to-seven days, Botox begins relaxing muscles and smoothing wrinkles in the treatment area.
Patients can expect to enjoy smoother and more youthful-looking skin for 3-4 months. At this time, additional injections will be needed to maintain antiaging effects.
